Throughout the progression of the pandemic, the SARS-CoV-2 genome has undergone mutations that have led to changes in virulence, pathogenicity, and host immune evasion [1,2,3,4,5,6]. Coronavirus genomes typically range from 26 to 32 kilobases, making them among the largest RNA virus genomes.
