Nana Ama Nwurueze is alleged to have posed as a business mogul who owns expensive properties including Ohemaa Plaza at East Legon, some fishing vessels in Takoradi and a house at Airport in a bid to get the complainant in the case to giver her the money. The accused person has been charged with one count of defrauding by false pretences. She was picked up after the court issued a bench warrant for her arrest in December last year after unsuccessful attempts to get her accosted.

The trial of domestic workers and others involved in the theft of some valuables from the home of former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah took another turn on Monday, March 24. During the continuation of her cross-examination, Madam Cecilia Dapaah revealed to the court that her late brother, Nana Akwasi Essan II, also known as Charles Dapaah was a subchief of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu I. She had earlier told the court that the accused persons stole $210,000, which belonged to him.

Four out of the seven individuals accused of stealing from former Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, have submitted a plea-bargaining request to the Attorney General. In court on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the lawyer for the four - Patience Botwe, a hairdresser; Sarah Agyei, unemployed; Benjamin Sowah, a plumber; and Malik Dauda, unemployed - informed the court that they had filed an application for a plea bargain. Broadcast journalist and private Legal Practitioner, Richard Dela Sky has discontinued his case against the anti-LGBTQ Bill at the Supreme Court. The journalist filed a Judicial review following the dismissal of his suit against the bill on December 18. But on Wednesday, February 26, his lawyers led by Paa Kwasi Abaidoo indicated to a 9-member panel of justices that they had filed a notice of discontinuation and hence would want to withdraw the case.
