    An Accra circuit court has granted a GHC13 million bail with four sureties to four persons who were accosted at the Swissport terminal at the Kotoka International Airport on April 23. The four, Gariba Soli, Josiah Biney, Emmanuel Minta, and Kwabena Ampofo Anti, have been charged with attempted exportation of narcotic drugs without a license, conspiracy to commit crime, possession of narcotic drugs without lawful authority and conspiracy to commit crime.

    The Supreme Court has set June 11 to rule on two applications filed by embattled Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Ernest Yaw Kumi. The legislator is challenging the decision by the Koforidua High Court and also wants the apex court to quash an injunction filed against him preventing him from holding himself as MP. The apex court had earlier adjourned the case for ruling on Wednesday, April 30.

    The Court of Appeal has set 5 June to deliver judgement in the case of Yaw Asante Agyeman, an alleged accomplice of the infamous Ayi Ayeetey, also known as Ataa Ayi, who is currently serving almost 100 years for armed robbery and other offences. Asante Agyeman, a mechanic, was sentenced to 35 years in December 2002 for conspiracy to commit robbery and has since served over 20 years of his jail term.
