Despite its long-established recognisable features, it has not maintained the status quo. London has always looked for ways to reinvent itself, setting trends, and showing off the latest fashions and technology.

    London is basking in an unexpected burst of sunshine — so I’ve had my feet in a paddling pool and my mind on the best late summer jaunts in the city this year. There’s the Greenwich & Docklands Festival, with circus performances, outdoor theatre and dance running until the end of this week. It’s free and you can head over on the air-conditioned Elizabeth line — bliss. If the urge takes you while you’re down there, you can even float around Canary Wharf in your own BBQ boat from Skuna.
