    Man, 76, dies after being hit by vanA 76-year-old man has died after being hit by a van. He was struck at the junction of the A614 and Snape Lane, near Harworth in Nottinghamshire, at 17:04 GMT on Wednesday. Nottinghamshire Police said the man received treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the van was spoken to at the scene but no arrests have been made, the force added. A file will now be prepared for the coroner.

    Officers are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old cyclist was injured in a hit-and-run in Nottingham. Police said the boy was riding along Broxtowe Lane in Cinderhill at about 08:10 BST on 2 October when he was hit by a car at the junction with Biant Close. He was taken to hospital with lacerations to his leg, arm and hands. In an appeal launched on Saturday, the force said the car involved was reported to have left the scene.
