Hiawatha BSA Troop 313 had an action-packed summer that the scouts won’t soon forget. In June, the troop set up camp at Lake Manawa, IA. They also enjoyed the thrilling zip lines and ropes course at Tree Rush in Bellevue, NE. The adventure didn’t stop there. In July, the scouts had the opportunity to attend one of two scout camps. Half of the troop experienced the beauty of Camp Cedars, located just west of Omaha, NE while the other half ventured to the exciting Camp Geiger, north of St. Joseph, MO.

Hiawatha BSA Troop 313 has been an active part of the Brown County community for many years. Last year wasn’t any different. We had a fun and busy 2023. In January, the scouts used teamwork and problem-solving skills at the Keynundrum Escape Rooms in Topeka. Darwin community groups, schools, businesses and not for profits will be able to receive grants to create their floats for this years Christmas pageant. To help Territorians get into the spirit of the event, grants of up to $500 are available for groups to create a walking vehicle or float. More than 900 participants in almost 50 floats took part in last year’s event, with more than 7000 spectators lining Darwin’s streets to get involved in the festivities.
