    MILLIONS of retirees are set to pay income tax on their pensions for the first time over the next three years, fresh figures show. In total, 8.2million people over the age of 60 will be dragged into paying income tax by 2027/28, according to analysis by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). And those are only some of the millions of households expected to have to start paying income tax as a result of the ongoing freeze to tax thresholds.

    MILLIONS of retirees will see a boost to their state pension payments on Monday following a rise to the annual figure last week. On April 6, the state pension rose by just over £470 per year from £11,502 to £11,976 for those on the full new state pension. That equates to a weekly rise from £221.20 a week to £230.31. A record 13million people will see the bumper rise to their income this year, according to the latest government figures.

    A MAJOR bank has made a number of changes to its current account terms that could affect some customers. In terms and conditions quietly updated in March, the Co-Operative Bank, which has around 2.5million banking customers, made a raft of "minor tweaks" to its terms. It recently contacted customers by post or email about the changes. Some of these updates were to reflect recent rule changes, such as new rules around how banks should respond to so-called authorised push payment (APP) scams.

The Pop Mart Labubu monsters are beloved by celebrities including Olivia Attwood, who recently posted a viral video of herself unboxing one of the toys. Dua Lipa and Rihanna are also fans of the plushies, which were designed by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung.

    A HUGE change is kicking in from this month that could end up costing savers more if they make a complaint. From April 1, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has begun charging third-party claims firms a fee for passing complaints to it on behalf of consumers. If you use a regulated financial services company such as a bank, pension provider or investment firm, you can make a complaint about them to the FOS if you can't resolve it with them directly.
