News The body of an unidentified man with a wound to the head was found under a coconut tree on the afternoon of April 30 in the quiet community of Mayo in the Gasparillo district. The victim, who appeared to be in his 30s, was of mixed descent and slim build. He was found face down in a garden off Mayo Road, near a concrete slab. He was wearing a blue jersey and brown pants.

News POLICE intend to review CCTV footage in hopes of identifying and arresting the suspects involved in an armed robbery of a businessman in Gasparillo early on April 29. The victim, a 30-year-old Syrian national from Chase Village, Chaguanas, was working at Royal Gyro on Charles Street around 1.30 am when the incident occurred. According to police, two men approached the victim, including one with a gun. The gunman pointed the weapon at him, causing him to become fearful for his life.

News A 24-year-old labourer is believed to have drowned while working on a farm in Couva on the afternoon of April 28. The victim, Adesh Taylor of Greig Street, Balmain Village in Couva, had been working on a farm at Lutchman Trace, off Camden Road, around 4 pm when he reportedly went to fix a burst water hose. His employer, a 40-year-old farmer from Otis Lane, Couva, said he last saw Taylor heading toward the farm.
