Once upon a time I wasn't actually a games journalist – crazy, I know. Before I started writing about esports and League of Legends, I wiled away the hours pouring over various history books, eventually earning myself two pretty snazzy history degrees. While a lot of my time was spent analysing WWII correspondence and weathered old Celtic stonework, one of my favorite things to study were alternative histories – novels that reimagined set-in-stone historical events.

There are so many iconic interactions in League of Legends. From rival characters throwing verbal barbs at one another, to Sona's old 'adagio summoner!' that broke the fourth wall, Riot's MOBA happily leans into the fanbase's many memes. But following patch 25.11, one such quirk appears to be bugged, much to the distress of players everywhere – myself included.

I can happily admit that sometimes, I'm really good at Valorant, and other times, I am absolute horseshit. I've always loved MMOs. I've plowed hours into exploring every corner of Azeroth, and happily whiled away the days chilling by the Aetheryte in Limsa Lominsa, watching the world go by. But, with stellar single-player games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Baldur's Gate 3 occupying my time at the moment, I've fallen off of the MMO grindset and haven't quite found a reason to return to it. Enter Sword of Justice, Netease's gorgeous new Wuxia-inspired fantasy adventure.

A few weeks ago I finally completed Baldur's Gate 3. I stood triumphant as I took down the Netherbrain, rolling a nat 20 on my dominate check, only for it to beat me down anyway. Ever since, I've been craving more Dungeons and Dragons-inspired goodness, dipping my toes into Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader and tentatively considering selling my soul to Neverwinter Nights.
