Despite being atop the National League Central, the Chicago Cubs need help in the bullpen. So they acquired left-hander Drew Pomeranz from the Seattle Mariners on Monday, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal. Pomeranz, who hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2021, will report to Triple-A Iowa. The 36-year-old signed a minor league deal with Seattle in November in hopes to revive his career. Pomeranz posted a 4.66 ERA in 9 ⅔ innings with 14 strikeouts and six walks for Triple-A Tacoma.
