Samsung Electronics Co. owes Maxell Ltd. $111.7 million for infringing patents with smart-home and phone technology, including the SmartThings Station, a jury found. Samsung willfully infringed US Patent Nos. 8,982,086, 10,176,848 and 11,017,815, a Texarkana jury determined Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The patents concern methods for systems for video, photo, reproduction and unlocking functions. The case is Maxell Ltd. v.
