The crowd of anti-Trump protesters were eventually met with MAGA enthusiasts which led to a brief standoff before law enforcement separated the groups in the interest of public safety.

Maconites were devastated after the two drowning deaths of 7-year-old Tristan Cornelius (who was declared dead at the scene) and 8-year-old Kiheen Johnson Jeffrey (who later succumbed to his injuries) at Lake Tobesofkee last week. “They could have killed my child, and I am angry.”A Macon mother is advocating for change after a recent heartbreaking effort to help her son. T.J. suffers from severe autism and is a danger to himself and others, including his mother. This is T.J.’s story:T.J. is 14 years old and has struggled with severe autism all of his life. He is self-injurious, destructive, aggressive, and nonverbal. His mother, Shannon Kennedy, describes their life as very isolating.

The Bibb County jail is making headlines yet again after inmates took advantage of the jail’s deteriorating conditions by jamming the locks of security doors and roaming the facility. The incident occurred on the evening of June 4 and resulted in multiple injuries and the death of 22-year-old Breele Jahiem Johnson. According to Sheriff David Davis, a group of five to eight inmates were able to open the security door between C- and D-block.

I saw an alert on my Ring app from a “neighbor” in North Macon that read:“I totally understand having a party for graduation, but not 150 or more at the pool this time of night. It is crazy, parents need to know where their children are.
