School Library Journal is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2024. Throughout the year, creative director Mark Tuchman will be highlighting some of his favorite covers. This one is the 50th anniversary issue from 2004. "When Jules Feiffer agreed to create our cover, I was excited, but also intimidated. The Phantom Tollbooth (by Norton Juster, illustrated by Feiffer) was one of my favorites as a child. As a teen, I always read his comics in the Village Voice.
