Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem is calling for the death penalty against two Mexican nationals charged with human smuggling after a boat capsized near San Diego, killing three people and leaving seven others missing. “Yesterday, off the coast of southern California, a panga-style boat capsized that was operated by Mexican nationals attempting to smuggle 14 aliens into the U.S.,” Noem said in a statement Wednesday.

Denmark has said it will summon the acting U.S. ambassador after it was reported that U.S. intelligence agencies have been ordered to increase spying on Greenland. Danish foreign minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen told reporters Wednesday he was going to call in the ambassador “for a discussion at the foreign ministry to see if we can confirm” the reporting, Reuters reported.

Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.) is leading the group of GOP lawmakers to request Trump take action as the May-to-November wildfire season begins, noting that fires have already impacted communities and the environment across the country.
