ANDREWS, Texas (KOSA) - On Friday, a student was arrested in Andrews after they brought a fake gun to a track and field meet. The suspect was detained by police and arrested. That information comes from Monahans ISD, who posted about the incident on Facebook. We have contacted Andrews ISD for further comment, but have not yet heard back. ANDREWS, Texas (KOSA) -The City of Andrews is pleading with the Texas Department of Transportation to have the state take control of Loop 1910. This comes after TxDOT proposed plans for a truck relief route in Pecos. Andrews City Manager Steve Eggleston responded in favor of the Pecos relief route, comparing the proposed route to Andrews’s Loop 1910. Eggleston says Loop 1910 provides similar benefits in terms of safety, congestion relief, Economic development, and infrastructure sustainability.

ODESSA, Texas. (KOSA/Gray News) - A Texas man pled guilty to his role in the death of an 8-year-old girl who died after being forced to jump on a trampoline in 110-degree heat. On Friday, 49-year-old Daniel Schwarz pled guilty to manslaughter and will serve 18 years in prison. Schwarz chose to enter a plea deal after his wife Ashley was sentenced to three life sentences for capital murder in 2023. In August 2020, Odessa Police responded to the 4300 block of Locust Avenue for a medical call.
