When public schools thrive, so does Idaho. Our classrooms prepare the next generation to lead, build and care for our communities. Yet year after year, the Republican-controlled Legislature underfunds our schools, abandoning its responsibility to Idaho kids and the future of our state. Once again, on May 20, local taxpayers will have to clean up the mess. Across the state, 27 school districts are asking voters to approve more than $223 million in bonds and levies.

To billionaires, recessions mean disappointing stock returns. To working families, they mean shuttered small businesses, layoffs, lost homes, and telling a graduate that college is out of reach. Recessions erase the American Dream for too many families. Now, Trump and his billionaire backers are driving us into a deep recession while Idaho’s top Republicans aid and abet the damage. The Trump regime’s reckless, on-and-off-again import taxes, or tariffs, are slamming our economy.

What a relief that Kilmar, who was wrongfully abducted, could send a message of love to his worried family. Let's hope the courts compel the Trump regime to get him home, as ordered by SCOTUS. If not, the GOP-controlled Congress must uphold their oath to the Constitution and act.

This is theft of the wages owed to teachers for work they already completed and theft to kids who should be getting math instruction. Idahoans are getting hurt as Trump/Musk regime unlawfully decides who to pay and who to stiff. And the GOP is silent. https://t.co/4236DIDOpF
