GRAVETTE, Ark. — After more than eight decades listed as missing in action (MIA), Private Rodger Dean Andrews has finally returned home. The Gravette native was just 19 years old when he was killed during the D-Day invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. A member of the U.S. Army’s Company C, 37th Engineer Combat Battalion, Andrews was tasked with clearing German defenses on Omaha Beach to make way for Allied troops.

The event, hosted by the Arkansas Justice Reform Coalition (AJRC), Gravel and Grit, and the MacArthur Justice Center's National Parole Transformation Project, featured a screening of Calls From Home, a moving short film by director Sylvia Ryerson.
