On our two week trip to Japan (and one week in Tokyo), we spent our first full day in Asakusa and Akihabara. Asakusa is a historic area of Tokyo, best known for Senso-ji temple and Nakamise-dori shopping street. On the other hand, Akihabara is called “Electric Town” as it was a central place in Tokyo for electronics following World War II. It gradually became known for video games, anime, manga, arcades and more.

In the South Island of New Zealand, Wanaka is best known for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor adventures. Why not stay in a place that incorporates elements of both? Oasis Yurt Lodge in Wanaka is a unique accommodation to relax, unwind, and stay close to nature in spacious and cozy yurts. After spending a couple of nights in nearby Queenstown, we embarked on our road trip of New Zealand. Our next stop was the town of Wanaka where we spent two nights in this beautiful yurt accommodation.

Underpass Park in Toronto demonstrates how an unused space can be transformed into a beautiful community park with public art. Once an unused and rundown space, it’s now one of the best places to view street art in Toronto, as well as an underrated hidden gem to visit near the waterfront. Like many cities, Toronto has a lack of empty space. New condos and skyscrapers are everywhere as more and more people live and work in the city.

Graffiti Alley in Toronto is one of the best displays of public art in the city. It’s open 24 hours a day and it’s completely free to visit. Since it’s street art, Graffiti Alley is constantly changing and evolving. I have visited multiple times and have admired new art every time I visit. If you’re lucky, you might even get to see some art in the making. I’ve seen graffiti artists spray painting on the walls before my eyes.

While we’re pretty local to Toronto and the GTA (we live less than an hour from the city), we love staying in downtown Toronto for a fun city getaway. Whether you’re planning a trip to Toronto or thinking about a staycation, spending the night at a hotel with a convenient location is key. We loved staying at the Delta Hotels Toronto in the heart of the city. Justin and I had the opportunity to spend the night at the Delta Toronto when it originally opened.
