Neighbours living next to an academy school in Norwich say their lives are now “unbearable” because newly built tennis courts have become a magnet for antisocial behaviour. Residents of Lowther Road said some pupils’ behaviour on the courts at City of Norwich School (CNS) left them feeling “intimidated”. The five courts, which were funded by the Lawn Tennis Association, were built during the pandemic and CNS has applied to extend their opening hours until 10pm.

A former major in the British Army has been charged with murdering his wife four years after she drowned in Australia while kayaking. Graeme Davidson, 55, has also been charged with fraud and attempted fraud in relation to a life insurance claim of more than A$1 million (£486,000) made after the death of his wife, Jacqueline, 54. The pair, who had been married for almost 30 years, were kayaking on Lake Samsonvale, north of Brisbane, when the incident happened in November 2020.

The King has said that he is feeling “great” as he attended the premiere of Sir David Attenborough’s new film in central London. Charles was among the attendees at the Royal Festival Hall for a showing of Ocean With David Attenborough, a feature-length film by Attenborough on how the seas have changed in his lifetime. Wearing a black tie, the King, a lifelong environmentalist, walked the blue carpet before heading inside, where he met the veteran broadcaster.

The assisted dying bill could be in breach of the European convention on human rights (ECHR) by removing the prospect of “effective inquest” into a death, a former chief coroner warns. In a letter to The Times, Judge Thomas Teague KC, the former chief coroner of England and Wales, writes that a clause in the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill means that any “assisted deaths” under the act would not be investigated by a coroner, as is usual when a death is potentially unnatural.
