We've all been there… you could have the best kitchen layout in the world, but trying to organise kitchen paraphernalia, crockery and glassware into cupboards and drawers can often result in a bulky set of saucepans taking up most of the room. Christmas always starts early for me as an interior stylist. Each summer my diary is packed with styling various Christmas photo shoots for homeware brands and magazines, which will trickle into festive events and so on until the time comes to actually decorate my own tree in December. This year I've seen the Scandi Christmas tree trend cutting through as a calming alternative to the traditional maximalist Christmas decorating trend.

I've always loved ribbon and even before I became a home's magazine stylist I had a big box where I'd keep leftover cuts to reuse. I still have that same box, choc-full of ribbon, which I use all year round as, for me, Christmas styling is something my work requires at all times of year, not just December. If you thought that ribbon was only good for tying around gifts, think again.
