MADISON (WKOW) -- N early 40 vendors gathered on Sunday for the Black Restaurant Week Food Taste Jamboree at Olin Park. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the event featured an array of dishes from local Black-owned restaurants, offering comforting African flavors. Organizers say, the event is helpful for smaller businesses. "Coinciding that with Black Restaurant Week, is a positive thing for us, because it gets some of the businesses some of the visibility that they need.

FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) held its annual Team Hope Run/Walk/Ride at McKee Farms Park on Sunday. The event began with registration at 9 a.m. and the run/walk kicked-off at 10 a.m. Organizers say the event drew a large turnout in support of Huntington's Disease research and awareness. This year's event was held in memory of Stacy Williams, who passed away from the disease on January 17th.

KENOSHA, Wis. (WKOW) -- Vice Presidential Candidate JD Vance will speak on crime safety at a press conference in Kenosha on Tuesday, August 20. The event attracts more than 500 athletes from southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The event marks nearly two decades of encouraging children to embrace a healthy lifestyle through multisport competition. The triathlon, which began in 2006, combines swimming, cycling and running. Participants started with a swim at the Oregon Community Pool, transitioned to a bike course through the village of Oregon and concluded with a run tailored to their age group.

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Fire Department responded to the Segoe Terrace Apartments on Saturday after receiving reports of a fire alarm. Multiple people who live there called 911, stating they saw visible smoke coming from the 4th floor. Engine 9 was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found that people had already evacuated. By the time crews arrived, the flames had been put out by a sprinkler head.
