Fontenot ruled that Skinner did not live in the school board district she represented. For the first time, Skinner spoke on camera about the removal, saying she appealed the removal because she was wrongfully served the court notice.

As previously reported, some digital products were already subject to sales taxes, but as of Jan. 1, streaming services are included in the sales and use tax. Digital services include internet services, TV streaming services, audio or audiovisual works, books, video games and applications.

    LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– Scammers are catfishing people in Acadiana, pretending to be Elon Musk. One of our viewers, Hilda Holland, asked us to investigate. Holland said her friend says she is in a relationship with the billionaire. That alleged relationship has already cost her more than 60 thousand dollars. The relationship began on the Threads app, then progressed to video chatting. “She said, ‘I seen Elon talking to me. I’ve talked to him on, you know, Facetime,'” Holland said.

    LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– Each month, KLFY News Ten partners with Bob Giles of Giles Automotive to give one local the chance to ‘pay it forward’ with $1,000. This month, Bob Giles and Layne Miller met Angel Lormand while Lorman was on her way to a work meeting. Lorman chose to pay it forward to her co-worker, Sarah Russo. “She’s a single lady, working hard, loving the Lord,” Lorman said. Lormand said they are both a part of the media department at Our Savior Church in Lafayette.

    EUNICE, La. (KLFY)– A new board member will be appointed to the Eunice Housing Authority after most of the board was recently removed and replaced. This comes after News Ten reported on tenants being locked out of a public meeting about their homes. Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said a board member stepped down from his position in December. “We just recently had a resignation by one of the board members who took on some more work in his business, and he decided to hang it up,” Fontenot said.
