"Just hearing about their nights, what happened in their day, how did their soccer game go, that really motivates me," she said.     The News Tribune will hold an election forum Wednesday and is seeking questions from readers. The forum, featuring Missouri House candidates on the Nov. 5 ballot, is scheduled for 6 p.m.It will be open to the public at City Hall, 320 E. McCarty St., and will be livestreamed at newstribune.com and the City of Jefferson YouTube channel. Moderated by News Tribune Editor Gary Castor, the forums will pose questions to the candidates from News Tribune staff and community members.

    Sue Bruemmer always knew she wanted to be a teacher. "When I was little, I had a little table and chalkboard in the basement," she said. "It's been something that's been with me for as long as I can remember."Bruemmer received this year's Fisher Family Good Samaritan Award. Redemption Inside the Walls and the News Tribune partnered to select five Mid-Missourians who go above and beyond to help those in need.

    Marta Kolb said she's grateful every day she wakes up and has the opportunity to help others. Whether it's volunteering at a local high school sporting event or running an errand, cutting grass or planting flowers for others, Kolb can usually be found helping somebody and spreading kindness. And she always does it with a smile on her face. "I would just about help anybody do anything," she said. Kolb received this year's Fisher Family Good Samaritan Award.
