HCMC – Nhon Trach 3 power plant in Dong Nai Province will connect to the national grid for the first time on February 1, following a successful no-load test at 3,000 revolutions per minute on January 29, project investor PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) said. The US$1.4 billion plant is the country’s first to use liquefied natural gas (LNG). It features high-efficiency gas turbines and is expected to contribute to Vietnam’s electricity supply amid rising demand.

HCMC – Vietnam will begin work on six major expressway projects in 2025 as part of a broader infrastructure push, the Ministry of Transport said. Cho Moi-Bac Kan Expressway will begin its first phase, covering 28.8 kilometers. It will link the existing route to National Highway 3B and connect with the Bac Kan-Ba Be Lake Expressway in Bac Kan City. The Cao Bo-Mai Son Expressway expansion involves a 15.2-kilometer segment in Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh provinces.
