The fast food industry, long considered recession-resistant, faces an uphill battle amid rising prices and price-conscious diners. The economic pressure has taken its toll on restaurant chains and nowhere more than Subway, the sub sandwich dining chain that, at its peak a decade ago, had more than 27,000 locations. Now, however, Subway continues to shutter restaurants, closing 600 in the past year alone.

Only in Alabama: Worker at fast food drive in just told me he didn’t mean to sound snippy but Nick Saban is retiring and it’s a sad day. Ended with a “Roll Tide anyway.”
