Investors pulled cash out of exchange-traded funds that buy emerging market bonds last week as growing fears the US will fall into a recession fueled a risk-off move across global assets. The $13 billion iShares J.P. Morgan USD Emerging Markets Bond ETF, known by its ticker EMB, recorded $215 million in outflows over the week, the largest withdrawal in a month, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
Carrefour Raises Offer to Take Brazilian Grocery Unit Private

Carrefour SA raised the offer to take its Brazilian unit private just a few days before a key vote as minority shareholders mobilized against the initial bid. The French grocer will now pay shareholders 8.50 reais for each share in Brazilian subsidiary Atacadao SA, the company said in a filing . That’s a 10% increase from its original bid of 7.70 reais a share. The new offer represents a 14% premium over Thursday’s closing price of 7.43 reais.
