Kids FEC chain Chuck E. Cheese has partnered with HappyNest Entertainment, a Hollywood animation studio, to product a Christmas special featuring its famous characters. The special will be written and produced by Zac Moncrief and Jon Colton Barry, who are the pair behind Phineas & Ferb and Be Cool Scooby-Doo! Oscar nominated character designer and animator Bobby Pontillas, best known for Moana, Big Hero 6 and Zootopia will also be working on the film.

Unis has unveiled its latest location-based concept store, the Trade-Up Crane Store. The new concept is an arcade that is filled with crane games, with players playing the games and collecting plushes, which they can trade in for larger prizes if they wish. Unis says that the concept keeps players motivated to play, as they try to reach the next prize tier. It also maximises prize value, as lower-cost plushes are reused in trades.

Intercard will be bringing its latest iQ card reader to China for IAAPA Expo Asia next month. Taking place from July 1-3 in Shanghai, the company will be presenting the technology that readers QR codes to show attendees. The reader won the Best New Product Award in the Technology Applied to Amusements – Product or Service Used by Facilities at IAAPA Expo 2024 in Florida, US. Intercard’s Asia-Pacific sales manager, Jerry Heinz, will be at the show meet with prospective clients.

The 2025 staging of the GTI China Expo is expected to attract more than 600 exhibitors when it takes place in September. It will be the 17th edition of the show and will be held at Area A of the China Import and Export Fair at the Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou from September 10-12. Covering more than 80,000sq.m, it will see visitors from more than 350 cities in China, as well as overseas buyers from more than 70 countries around the world.

A Colorado, US, go-karting track has updated its race karts, going all-electric and adding gamified elements. Estes Park Ride-A-Kart has been operating for 66 years and has chosen to update its go-karting attraction, adding the Power Up system. When karts drive over certain points of the track, they will either speed up or slow down, while racers can also pick up power-ups that can interact with other karts using controls on the steering wheel.
