Good morning from Taipei,It’s a cloudy 31 degrees on my first morning in the Taiwanese capital. My colleague and I slept off a long travel day in a luxurious hotel – strangely good-value – in Taipei’s business district. We now realise, based on the drop jacuzzi, three TVs in each room, suite name (“Power King”), front desk’s distrust of the company card, and room access (through a parking lot), that it’s an upscale sex motel. BORNHOLM, DENMARK - Foreign ministers from 11 European countries convened at a security summit on the Danish island of Bornholm this week to discuss the war in Ukraine and latest geopolitical and security situation in the Nordic and Baltic region. Officials from the eight countries of the Nordic-Baltic Cooperation (NB8) - Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania - were joined on the island by counterparts from Germany, France, and Poland.

In December, 18 emerging designers from six renowned European fashion schools gathered in Portugal to compete in the 2024 MODAPORTUGAL LINKS Fashion Design Competition at Porto’s opulent, fresco-adorned Stock Exchange Palace. Representing Aalto University, Institut Français de la Mode, Polimoda, HEAD Genève, London College of Fashion and Modatex, each presented a collection to a panel of leading fashion directors and creatives, who selected a winner from each school, and one overall.
