SADC has resolved that emissaries will be sent to the DRC to facilitate the repatriation of the deceased and injured troops. It has also resolved to convene an urgent meeting with the East African Community to try resolve the security situation. SADC has vowed to continue helping the DRC to protect its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Presidential candidates commended the peaceful environment of the general elections underway in Namibia. Outgoing president Nangolo Mbumba promised that every vote would be counted. Opposition leader Panduleni Itula said there will be one winner and Namibians should support him or her. Outgoing Namibian president Nangolo Mbumba commended his country on a smooth election day on Wednesday. By midday, long queues suggested high voter turnout, with polling stations only due to close at 21:00.

The youngest of Namibia's 15 presidential candidates is a 37-year-old university professor. The oldest, at 72, is also the only woman in a race where more women than men are registered to vote. Voting is due to open at 07:00 on Wednesday. Almost a million of the registered voters for Namibia's general elections on Wednesday are below the age of 42, and there are more women than men registered to vote, according to the Namibian Electoral Commission, in what promises to be a historic plebiscite.
