The fastest man in baseball, Simpson boasts elite contact rates and plenty of patience in the box, making him the ideal old-school leadoff man. A slap hitter with a fantastic feel for the barrel, Simpson shoots the ball all over the yard, smacking plenty of soft liners and ground balls he can beat out. Contrary to most other hitters, Simpson’s ability to limit fly balls is an asset, as his 80-grade speed can turn even routine plays into hits.

A high offensive floor with solid wheels and some added power makes Keaschall an easy bat to buy into as the Twins try to figure out his long-term defensive home. Starting slightly open with his hands high, Keaschall gets into his back side with a decent-sized leg kick that he starts early and controls well. He adjusted his base and hand position after his first taste of professional baseball, also adding some additional strength, resulting in higher exit velocities.

The Minnesota Twins are bringing in a reinforcement. A 7-12 record puts the Twins in fourth place in the AL Central. Their pitchers have a perfectly respectable 3.74 ERA. Yet, their bats have been woeful. They have scored just 3.5 runs per game. They rank among the bottom four AL clubs in all three triple-slash categories, while their collective 82 wRC+ is the third-worst in the Junior Circuit. To make matters worse, the Twins are navigating numerous injuries to key position players.

The Chicago White Sox had a new catcher yesterday afternoon. Edgar Quero, Chicago’s highest-ranked position player prospect on the Just Baseball Top 100, received his call to the show on Thursday. He had hit .333 with an .856 OPS and a 144 wRC+ through his first 15 games at Triple-A Charlotte this season. Evidently, the White Sox decided he was ready for the next step. All things considered, it probably wasn’t the debut Quero hoped for. The White Sox took a beating from the Athletics, losing 8-0.

Stats updated prior to first pitch on Tuesday, April 15. The New York Yankees have been an offensive juggernaut to kick off the 2025 campaign. Entering play on Tuesday, they lead the majors with a collective 142 wRC+ and an .844 OPS. To put those incredible numbers in perspective, Juan Soto has a 138 wRC+ and an .829 OPS through his first 16 games with the Mets. You could replace the 2025 Yankees with a lineup of nine Juan Sotos, and somehow, the offense would be worse.
