Antoine Griezmann has signed a one-year contract extension with Atletico Madrid, prolonging his stay in the Spanish capital until June 2027. The Frenchman's previous deal was set to expire in 2026. Griezmann, 34, re-joined Atletico in 2022, signing a four-year contract after spending a season on loan at the club from Barcelona. He spent five seasons with Atletico club from 2014 to 2019, before joining Barca for €120million (£101.2m; $136.3m).

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Dutch attacking right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. The Athletic reported last Saturday that Frimpong was set to undergo his medical at Liverpool after agreeing a five-year deal to join the Premier League champions, who activated his €35million (£29.6m; $39.3m) release clause. The fee will be paid in three separate instalments over three years.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ella Morris has withdrawn from her maiden England camp after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in training. Morris, 22, was handed her first call-up for England's Nations League matches against Portugal on May 30 and against Spain four days later. A statement issued on Wednesday said Morris has left the camp "to begin her rehabilitation". "England's support team will remain in close contact with her and the club," the statement added.

Arsenal centre back Lotte Wubben-Moy has been called up to England's squad for their upcoming Nations League matches, with Chelsea captain Millie Bright dropping out. Bright, 31, leaves the camp to undertake an "extended period of recovery," an England statement said on Monday. Sarina Wiegman's side take on Portugal at Wembley Stadium on May 30, before facing Spain in Barcelona four days later.

Mohamed Salah said negotiations surrounding a move to the Saudi Pro League (SPL) "were serious" before he signed a new two-year contract with Liverpool. Salah's future at Anfield had been uncertain for much of Liverpool's Premier League title-winning campaign, with his previous terms expiring at the end of June. The 32-year-old, who won the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker awards with 29 goals and 18 assists, signed a new contract until 2027 in April.
