1. IntroductionPatients with schizophrenia (SZ) have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) compared to individuals from the general population [1]. This is associated with an increased prevalence of obesity, diabetes and dyslipidaemia, with dyslipidaemia decreasing overall survival rates by 10% over 10 years in this population [2].
