The Broadway tour of “A Beautiful Noise” onstage at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Theatre is a must-see for Neil Diamond fans. For others, perhaps not. Crooner Nick Fradiani, an “American Idol” winner, nails all the the great tunes in Diamond’s hit-packed catalog, and the musical accompaniment is superb. Sonny Paladino’s arrangements of the songs, led by keyboardists-conductors James Olmstead and Nancy O’Connor, are terrific. So are members of the gorgeously harmonizing chorus, who also dance.

There’s still time to get an up-close glimpse of Beatlemania at its height, from the truly unique perspective of a Beatle, at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. “Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of the Storm,” a collection of more than 200 images taken during the Beatles’ early days of stardom in their native England and on tour in Paris, New York, Washington, D.C. and Miami, is on view through July 6, and it’s a gas.

As San Francisco Opera’s summer season in the Opera House is underway with an excellent production of Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème,” there’s still a chance for new and old fans to see a free, mini outdoor version of the classic in the popular “Bohème Out of the Box” program. Final performances in the series, now in its third year, are June 28-29 in Hayward’s Heritage Plaza.
