It was a tale of two halves for the women Peacocks. After shooting 21 percent from the 3-point line in the first half, the Peacocks shot 75 percent from the 3-point line in the third quarter and 51 percent overall in the second half for a 61-55 victory over Canisius (2-13, 1-4 MAAC) Saturday afternoon at Yanitelli Center in Jersey City, NJ. It was the Peacocks’ first win in their last five attempts against the Golden Griffins.

Success over the long haul requires Sirens to play better against teams that offer match-up challenges. Good thing it’s a long season. There are 22 more games left after the Sirens completed their eighth game of the season with a 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Charge on Tuesday night at Prudential Center. The Sirens blew a 1-0 lead in the first period and, from there, played catch-up most of the night against Ottawa.
