IT’S far too early to mark a ceiling for this nascent Dr Crokes side but, make no mistake, this was a significant victory. They won’t afford themselves a hearty welcome just yet but with the reigning Munster champions now out of their way, and other All-Ireland contenders falling over the weekend, there could be a bit of winter training there yet for Pat O’Shea and co. AS the old fisherman said, this one had the ingredients for a delightful platter but finished in a bit of a damp squid. Sean O’Shea was at his sparkling best as Kenmare Shamrocks overcame the odds against favourites Dr Crokes to book their place in the Kerry Senior Club Championship final. A well deserved result in truth for Kenmare, O’Shea a crucial asset in their win, their direct running style was pivotal also. Micheál Burns was the man of the moment for Crokes, 0-7 of their 0-12 tally coming from the forward. But Kenmare now await either Spa or Dingle in the decider next Friday night.
