As a Disorientation coordinator, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry (MB&B) major and College of East Asian Studies minor, and big name on campus, Hsu has made a sizeable mark on Wesleyan in his time here. If you haven’t seen her biking around campus or shooting her next hit documentary, you have probably ordered a scrumptious beverage from her at Espwesso. As the manager this year, Hubbard-Salk has helped to foster warmth and community there. Black Raspberry, an all-Black art collective, was started by Neo Fleurimond ’24 two years ago. Since then, it has transformed into a music group with multiple other artistic branches, allowing members to explore all different forms of expression. The group has revolutionized the music scene at Wesleyan, making space for historically underrepresented genres at the school, like hip-hop and R&B, to take the main stage. They even had the opportunity to open for Tierra Whack at last year’s Spring Fling.

Meet Maseo Refuerzo ’24: artist, filmmaker, and certified man of mischief. You may have seen him biking around campus with a funky hat or encountered his face in some surprising places around campus. Or maybe you are one of the select, lucky few to have eaten a meal cooked by him. But if you know anything about Maseo, it is that no matter what challenges lie ahead, from his film thesis to evading the administration’s wrath, he is doing it with a smile on his face and an outfit to match.
