South Australian electronic duo Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross headed to Sweden to represent Australia at Eurovision… and lost. But not in my mind. Despite annual confusion over Australia’s presence at Eurovision, it’s still an immensely exciting event. And this year was particularly exciting, with Electric Fields’ expansive dance track ‘One Milkali (One Blood)’ sung partly in Yankunytjatjara, making it Australia’s First Nations heritage debut at Eurovision.

It may have happened to you — over and over again — in the past. But most recently, it probably happened to you if you love Rapunzel. Fans have been hyping up various actors who they’d love to see as Rapunzel in a hypothetical live-action adaptation of Tangled for years. Florence Pugh was a fan fave. Dove Cameron was another.

I don’t know what it says about us as a nation, but we know indie horror. Written, directed and edited by Australian brothers Colin and Cameron Cairnes, Late Night with the Devil is a delightfully creepy twist on the classic exorcism genre, presented as old tapes from a late 70s talk show. Even if you’re not one for horror movies, the way Late Night with the Devil plays with the medium and genre makes for a super fun watch that’s not intolerably terrifying, but still damn spooky.

I wish a movie like How to Have Sex, which carefully confronts our messed up culture around sex and consent, didn’t need to exist. But I’m so glad it does. It’s a funny feeling to be endlessly grateful that times are changing, yet wishing the change had happened earlier. I tend to feel that way about popular media finally pushing back on pervasive racial stereotypes, or the joyful reclamation of girlhood thanks to films like Barbie and the social camaraderie of the Eras Tour.

Eleven years after the release of the crowd favourite Assassin’s Creed game, Black Flag, we’re finally getting a pirate action-adventure game from Ubisoft called Skull and Bones. Created by Ubisoft’s Singapore branch, Skull and Bones takes inspiration from the fan favourite pirate themes of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, along with the Singapore studio’s experience in creating the naval combat for Assassin’s Creed III.
Young People Are Mentally Resilient, But Should They Be?

A recent National Youth Mental Health Survey from headspace revealed that 61 percent of young people felt that they tend to bounce back quickly after hard times. But should young people really have to be so good at bouncing back? Headspace’s national survey showed that 52 percent agreed or strongly agreed with the statement “It does not take long to recover from a stressful event”. And 69 percent of those surveyed were found to have normal and high levels of resilience.

I’m always surprised by how much satire can make me question everything. Like hey, what if our politicians really were morally bankrupt and corrupt to the core? Or if people in positions of power were unapologetically biased and exploitative, instead of hiding within the systems that benefit them? So silly. Gen V brings my worst fears about society to the fore. A spin-off to The Boys, the show continues its legacy of exploring what ‘real life’ would be like if superheroes were real.

Almost every day now, I’ve been stuck in an endless cycle of playing the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown game until I was too tired, vowing to sleep earlier the next day, and, of course, refusing to learn my lesson. It’s just that good. The Prince of Persia series has been a little hit or miss in the past. When this version was first announced, there was some concern that a 2D, side-scrolling game just didn’t seem like it would do the story or the characters justice.
