This marks Champion’s second published book after “Labor of Love: A Literary Mama Staff Anthology” released Jan. 26. Champion has lived in Ithaca for about 24 years and has been serving on the Tompkins County Legislature since 2018. Staff writer Liam McDermott spoke with Champion about her new book and the inspiration behind it, including her history with the City of Ithaca.

    November 12, 2024 Jonathan Ablard, professor in the Department of History and Latin American Studies coordinator at Ithaca College, gave his keynote presentation titled “Conspiracy Theories and Rumors in the History of Public Health” at the Social History of Health and Illness in Argentina and the Americas workshop via Zoom. Ablard’s presentation detailed how historical events should be used to better understand the relationship between the information crisis and public health.

The encounter produced a lively start, with both outfits getting to grips with each other. Oliver Roberts’ snapshot from distance looked destined for goal, but the inspired Joe Mason in the FC St Helens goal produced an equally impressive save.

    On Sept. 20, Katy Perry released her seventh studio album titled “143,” her first album since “Smile” in 2020. While she is known for creating catchy pop songs that can be described as feel-good, “143” gives off more of a club vibe with a synthetic sound, featuring collaborations with artists like Kim Petras. “143” explores two very important things in Perry’s life: motherhood and female empowerment.

    Quincy DavidsonQuincy Davidson served as the associate vice president for engagement at Ithaca College from March 2020 until April 2024. On April 16, Davidson’s departure was announced in an Intercom post which stated that Davidson would be leaving the college April 18 for another opportunity at Boston University. In the Intercom post, Laine Norton, vice president for philanthropy and engagement, thanked Davidson for his work over the past four years.
