The New Jersey Devils hosted the Washington Capitals this past Saturday at the Prudential Center. This was a major divisional matchup as this would be the last time these two teams met during the regular season this year. New Jersey fell short to the Capitals just by one goal, 6-5. This was the fourth time this season the Devils met the Capitals. In the first period, Devils Captain, Nico Hischier opened the game by winning the first face-off of the night.

The Devils just lost their last game against the St. Louis Blues being shut out by a score of 3-0. Coming off from a rough game just before the Holidays, the Devils were looking to make a comeback this afternoon against the Red Wings.

On Monday, the New Jersey Devils will host the Nashville Predators at the Prudential Center with a 7 p.m. puck drop in Newark. The Devils are on a two-game winning streak and are looking to continue that streak against the Predators. They recently played the Washington Capitals and won 5-2. The Devils also beat the Carolina Hurricanes last Thursday on home ice with a 4-3 score. The Nashville Predators won their last game this past Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets 4-1.

The New Jersey Devils faced the Washington Capitals in a Metropolitan Division matchup on Saturday, and they took home the win, 3-2. It was quite a game for the Devils, as they also beat the Carolina Hurricanes last Thursday. As the first period commenced, Devils captain Nico Hischier won the first face-off of the night against Nic Dowd. The puck went to Luke Hughes roughly 20 seconds into the period, but he slipped away from it and gave it off.
