Now that school is out for summer, this is a great time for our teenagers to join the workforce. If your teen is motivated to make some money and learn new skills, you are already ahead of the game. I was already working pretty much full-time when I was 16 years old. I'm certainly the exception and not the rule when it comes to teens in the workforce. I am very proud to say that I am teaching my teenage son the value of a good work ethic. In fact, he has 2 jobs and a vendor booth side hustle.

I grew up in Princeton, Indiana, which is about a 30-minute drive from Evansville. The current population of Princeton is just over 8,000, so you can imagine that there are not a lot of shopping options. Now, we have learned that the town will be losing a popular grocery store. When I was in high school, all of the cool kids worked at Buehler's Buy Low off of West Broadway. I remember wanting to work there and become a part of that group.

When I saw a video of a beautiful woman eating all sorts of strange chocolate desserts, I had to stop my scroll and find out more. Photo by lilysmediterraneanexpressThis TikTok video is said to be the reason that everyone wants to try Dubai chocolate.

School is officially out for summer! You are singing that song now, sorry about that, I am too. Now, for families that rely on the school lunch program to ensure their kids get to eat every day, summer is a new source of stress. PHOTO: google maps IGAThe grocery business can be a tough one, especially if you are a small-town grocer. But McKim's IGA in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, must be doing something right. The Williams family has had the support of the community for over 30 years and counting.

If your bedroom walls were basically pages from Teen Beat Magazine, or you had a never-ending supply of butterfly clips, then you will love everything about this weekend.

As a homeowner, my family and I have collected more than our share of junk. Seriously, one section of our backyard looks like a scene out of Sanford and Son. As much as I hate having an old couch, a broken bicycle, and other random broken junk, I would never even consider dumping them at a thrift store donation center. Trash companies will pick up some of these larger things, like a disgusting couch or mattresses, but it is going to cost you.

We all know people who have a few drinks when they are out and then drive home. Personally, I could never do that, but my husband and I always have a plan. One of us just doesn't drink. The very thought of killing someone, because we made a bad decision, is more than enough of a reason to plan ahead. Sadly, too many people don't plan for a ride home, after a few drinks. It seems like just as one business closes in Evansville, another one opens. Some businesses on Evansville's East side have grown so much, they need more space. Others have sadly had to close their doors. If you accidentally read that as 'Love Shack,' you are not alone. I've seen the commercials for these fancy couches and chairs that have audio and wifi. I didn't know that the company had showrooms, but they do, and soon there will be one in Evansville, Indiana.

It has been zero days since a vehicle has been attacked by a yellow pole in the Walmart parking lot. This frequent yellow pole wreck phenomenon has been quiet for a while, but it appears to be active again. I know that I'm speaking about a yellow pole like it's a demon or something, but it does seem to target trucks and high-profile vehicles. Normal people might think that it's because the height makes it difficult to see the yellow pole. I've moved on to thinking that evil is at play here.
