The middle seat is my new favourite place on an airplane. It’s the perfect seat to have, no pressure of the aisle seat, no one is jealous that you have the window. You can still see the world below but have access to get out easily enough. It’s the same feeling that is evoked from going into a final as the one’s everyone expects to lose. No pressure, no jealousy. You get the experience and the atmosphere without the added layer that can taint the day. Until, of course, you win it.

In April 2024, Hesterine de Reus was brought in as Ajax head coach to replace Suzanne Bakker, who left in June 2024. Bakker got Ajax to the quarter finals of the Champions League in 2023/2024, won the cup in the same season and became champions of the Eredivisie in 2022/2023. De Reus had big shoes to fill. With her experience in women’s football, such as Matildas head coach, she was expected to do well. Recently, Ajax announced that de Reus is leaving Ajax, after just one season in charge.
