The uncle of a 12-year-old girl killed in an electric scooter crash in Delaware County is calling for legislation that would require helmet usage for minors. Family members confirmed Abigail Gillon, 12, died Monday night from injuries sustained during a crash over the weekend. Gillon and her friend identified as 11-year-old Bella Jones were hit by a car while riding an electric scooter near Lehr Boulevard and Concord Road, according to Aston Township police.

Montgomery County animal rescue center is healing and picking up the pieces after a fire killed at least a dozen cats and several are still missing. Pawsibilities Animal Rescue has been considered a safe haven for animals over the past 15 years. Last Sunday, flames ripped through its barn killing 15 cats, two rabbits, and a chicken. As families and loved ones of three teenagers killed in a Limerick crash mourn their deaths, they are also demanding answers into the police pursuit that preceded the collision. The three who died this week have been identified as Gabriel Cooper, Nasir Youk, and Siniyah Newsuan. All three were 17-years-old, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. A 15-year-old boy was also hurt and hospitalized.

Temple University officials and Delaware law enforcement are crediting advanced surveillance tools for the arrest of a man who was wanted in several states. Jahid Robinson, 20, was wanted for a series of burglaries in the Greenville section of Wilmington, according to Master Cpl. Richard Chambers. “He was going into people’s homes. They were occupied burglaries. He was going into their houses, taking property, and he was taking car keys,” Chambers said Friday.

The Goodwill Fire Company was shut down by police last week after a meeting between members got heated, and now residents say they are concerned about who is going to be around to put out fires in the area. According to Dan Assal, the interim president of the fire company, police showed up to their meeting at their station located at 719 W. Cooke Avenue in Glenolden, last Thursday, May 22, after tempers flared between members and took their fire trucks.
