1 Introduction For total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients, a gap exists between clinical success and satisfaction [1]. Between 92% and 99% of TKA implants survive at 10 years, while patient satisfaction ranges from 70% to 84% for function and 72%–86% for pain relief [2-7]. Though patient expectations do play a role, this gap merits additional investigation.
