With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues.

What makes a good sports novel? What even counts as a sports book? These are questions that listicle writers such as myself have tried to answer for decades on end. Opinions vary almost as much as novels featuring sports do. Some novels focus more on the lives of players than the games, and bringing in sports romance (which obviously would focus on romance over playing) complicates this further.

Eight sensory tool kits — with materials ranging from wobble cushions to fidget spinners to weighted lap pads — and two balance boards are ready for check out. In her final semester pursuing an Occupational Therapy Doctorate, Sarah Hulstein began her OTD capstone — a self-paced, self-created project.

Around a month ago, I had the pleasure of covering Ruth Harkin’s book launch for The Times-Delphic. During that launch, Ruth Harkin read excerpts of her short story collection – titled “When My Husband Ran for President and Other Short Stories” – answered questions and signed copies of the book. Thanks to her excerpts, I grew intrigued and purchased a signed copy — something I, a used book purchaser till the end, hardly do. Well, I am glad to say that I do not regret it.
