IntroductionBronchial asthma is a common respiratory disease leading to symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness, and thereby affects millions of people worldwide in their daily life [1]. Approximately 3–10% of asthma patients have severe asthma, representing a heterogenous group of patients in which symptoms are not controlled by inhaled medication [2].
