The Public Theater’s artistic director Oskar Eustis and executive director Patrick Willingham have announced the lineup for the Public’s 2025-26 season at their Astor Place theater. The Public season will feature five world premieres, including a musical by Obie Award winner and Emerging Writers Group alumnus Ethan Lipton, based on Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Skin of Our Teeth, and three New York premieres, including one by Emmy Award winner John Leguizamo.

Disney Theatrical Group has announced full casting for the North American tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the first North American production of the musical presented by Disney in over 25 years. Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA) presents Taylor Mac’s Prosperous Fools, running June 1–29 and directed by Tony winner Darko Tresnjak (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder). Very loosely inspired by Moliere’s 17th century classic Le Bourgeois gentilhomme, Prosperous Fools is a comedy of manners for an age with no manners.

The producers of the musical formerly known as Gun & Powder have announced that the production will be rebranding to the new title Wanted and are aiming for a Broadway bow in 2026. Theater, dates, and casting will be announced at a later date. A workshop for Wanted will take place this June.
