The growing threat of nuclear warfare is the focus of this week's Nobel Peace Prize Forum in Oslo. It comes almost 80 years since the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thousands of survivors and victimes of the bombings support Japan's anti-nuclear group Nihon Hidankyo which was awarded this year's Nobel Peace prize. Seven years ago, another anti-nuclear organisation, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons or ICAN won the coveted Prize.

The stories of the so called Dunera boys is on show at the NSW State Library. They were a group of two thousand plus boys and men, mostly Jewish refugees who’d fled to Britain to escape Nazi persecution, only to be deemed enemy aliens and shipped to Australia on the military ship Dunera in September 1940 and held in internment camps in Hay, Orange and Tatura.
