What is known on this topic Treatment at hospitals with cancer-focused designations, like National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers (NCI-CCC) and American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC)-accredited hospitals, is associated with better outcomes. Previous research found that patients who are uninsured or from underserved groups based on geography, socioeconomic status, or race and ethnicity, are less likely to access care at these facilities.
