JACKSON, Wyo. – It was all eyes on the Wilson pathway plan at the Jan. 7 Teton County Commissioner meeting, but the ongoing discussion about what to do with the remaining lots at Stilson received a moment of attention, and action by the Board.
Hoback water system update: County supports pre-design with SPET funds

JACKSON, Wyo. — Momentum continues to build for the future construction of the Hoback water system, most recently with the approval of pre-design funding from the County Commission. During the Dec. 17 meeting, Commissioners approved the use of up to $100,000 for pre-design work by Nelson Engineering for a future Hoback water supply system, located on county land near the confluence of the Hoback and Snake Rivers.
County directs remaining COVID funds for RV dump station south of Town

JACKSON, Wyo. — Ahead of the Dec. 31 deadline, the County Commission voted to obligate the remaining COVID-19 funds first issued to the county in 2021 from the U.S. Treasury, to the Public Works Department for a future RV dump station. The Public Works Department will use the remaining balance of $605,609 to install an RV dump station south of Jackson on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Parcel 26.
Wildland Urban Interface Boundary includes all private land in Teton County

JACKSON, Wyo. — A new Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Boundary, that includes all private lands within Teton County, will go into effect Jan. 1, 2025, following final approvals by both the Town and County. The Teton County Board of County Commissioners approved the resolution on Nov. 19, following a public hearing covering the proposed amendment to the Wildland Urban Interface Code. The Town Council approved the third and final reading of the ordinance on Dec. 16.
JHMR proposes housing plan for Stilson; neighbors, wildlife advocates say no more development

JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) proposed a development concept that would encompass the remaining parcels at Stilson and include housing to the Teton County Board of County Commissioner during a Dec. 9 workshop. Stilson Ranch has several parcels with current ownership split between JHMR and Teton County, which has shifted over the years with a series of land gifts from JHMR to the County.

JACKSON, Wyo. — Plans to replace the Teton County Justice Center are underway following the voter-approved $88 million SPET initiative that passed in November with a margin of 28 votes. Representatives from Wember, Teton County’s Owners Representative for capital projects, and Anderson Mason Dale (AMD) Architects briefed the Commissioners on the Courthouse project status thus far, during a County Commission meeting workshop on Dec. 2.
90 Virginian Lane housing moves through process, some councilors ask for pause

JACKSON, Wyo. — Town and County elected officials approved the ground lease option agreement for the 90 Virginian Lane Development on Dec. 2; the County unanimously approved the motion while the town voted 3-2, with Council members Jonathan Schechter and Jessica Sell Chambers voting against. The 90 Virginian Lane development will build 200 deed-restricted workforce and affordable housing units in the “mid-town” neighborhood of Jackson, adjacent to the Teton County Library.
