Adam's sprayed her shoes with a fire extinguisher, her title taken moments after. Along with the chance to compete in her next race that day, the 200 meter.

    Warmest Day of the Week Temperatures soaring today! Currently, a building ridge will surge northeast toward us and is the strongest today with a dome of heat over much of California. Inland areas are likely to see high temperatures 15-20ºF above normal and may approach records. Light onshore flow will keep the coast comfortable, but highs will also be warm for this time of year.  Friday: Temperatures soar on Friday as a hot ridge takes over. Expect inland highs to be 15-20ºF above normal.

    Seasonable for Now, Heating up Later SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – A low will cut off to the south and keep the weather seasonable through mid-week, then high pressure winds out, heating up the area--especially inland.  Tuesday: Clouds linger on the south side of the bay, otherwise mostly sunny. Most areas will warm up a few degrees except perhaps the peninsula area which may be a degree or two cooler than Monday.

    Seasonable Holiday SALINAS, Calif. (KION) – A (dry) trough will pass by into today and tomorrow which will cool inland areas and keep coastal areas seasonable. Winds may be occasionally gusty as well. High pressure will build back in behind it, but the warm-up will be slow.  Monday (Memorial Day): Low clouds early, then partly cloudy. Coastal highs in the 60s to low 70s—warmest on the north side of the bay—and cooler inland with mid-60s to around 80ºF expected.

    Warming into the Weekend All areas will then warm up on Thursday—quite a bit, in fact! Friday is looking to be the warmest day. Once Sunday approaches, there could be a bit of unsettled weather just in time for Mother's Day, unfortunately.   Air Quality: Good to Moderate     Thursday: A few low clouds, but less cloudcover overall. Warmer, with coastal highs in the 60s to low 70s with 70s-80s inland. Breezy northwesterly onshore winds becoming windy up valleys late.
