    A man described by police as a "perverted criminal" has been jailed for two years after admitting he sexually assaulted a child. Phillip Budrey, 64, from Adlard Grove in Humberston was sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court on Monday. He pleaded guilty at an earlier court hearing to sexual assault by touching a child under 13. Det Con Nichola Oakley said: "Budrey is a perverted criminal who targeted a vulnerable young child and sexually assaulted her.

Arthur Harrison and George Whitehurst fought to put out a fire after an air raid on 11 July 1940 in Bridlington. A bomb hit the station yard, landing close to a train carriage full of ammunition and creating the potential for a far worse disaster.

    Two railway workers from Hull have been honoured with blue plaques for their bravery in World War Two. Arthur Harrison and George Whitehurst fought to put out a fire after an air raid on 11 July 1940 in Bridlington. A bomb hit the station yard, landing close to a train carriage full of ammunition and creating the potential for a far worse disaster. However, there were no resulting explosions despite of the risks caused by the stored ammunition.
